Qynetic Tool Manager

What is Qynetic Tool Manager, and what is predictive tool management?

Tool Manager tracks tool identity, position, usage, offsets and wear. Its goal is predictive tool management: estimating a tool's remaining useful life from actual process behaviour — dimensional drift, offset history, cutting time — rather than from static part counters alone.

Status: Planned

The problem it addresses

Fixed tool-life counters change tools too early or too late. Early wastes tool life and adds stops; late risks scrap and unplanned stops.

How it works

  1. 1Tool usage, part count, cutting time and offset history are linked to measured dimensional drift.
  2. 2Remaining life is estimated from process behaviour and compared with the counter-based plan.
  3. 3When a replacement is predicted inside a campaign, Qynetic can suggest combining it with a planned changeover.

Capabilities

  • Tool identity and positions

Which tool, in which position, on which machine, doing what.

  • Usage and offset history

Part count, cutting time and every offset change, with who or what made it.

  • Remaining useful life

Condition-based estimates with confidence, shown next to the static counter.

  • Tool-change strategy

Evidence for when to replace, and which strategy produced the best capability.

Common questions

How is this different from a tool-life counter?

A counter assumes every part wears a tool equally. Predictive tool management looks at what the process actually does — drift in measured dimensions and offset behaviour — and adjusts the expectation accordingly.
